Amanda’s Story
Amanda Gravitt is a southern girl with California roots and Oklahoma boots. She was born in Montana, grew up in Southern California but finished high school in Oklahoma. She studied political science in the heart of Texas and moved back east to work in the crazy world of political campaigns. Her travels for work and wanderlust have literally taken her across the world, and while she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, running, sewing, scuba diving and learning about new cultures, she left her heart in Georgia. Today, she lives and works in Atlanta as a political finance consultant and invests in the community there through the Junior League and her church.
Andy’s Story
Andrew Merl is a southern gentleman through and through, born and raised in the Peach State. He has spent much of his life committed to living an active life enjoying the great outdoors. Having never met a stranger, Andrew is an active member of his church, a former Boy Scout leader and friend to all whether you choose to opt outside or not. Today, he lives and works in Atlanta, where he has cultivated a lifestyle driven to encourage connection and joy of God’s creation.
Boy Meets Girl
Amanda and Andrew met in 2007, at church in Atlanta. She was attending Financial Peace University and he would peak through the window to see her on his way to choir practice. Their friendship grew quickly over their love of Christ, love of the outdoors and budding love for each other. Sadly, Amanda’s work took her back to Texas back in 2009, but the two invested in each other’s lives through the years with many phone calls and postcards. During the fall of 2016 and into the winter of 2017, they reconnected in person and wondered if they were meant to be. As they grew closer together, they shared laughs, created memories and explored the outdoors. After waiting for the perfect moment, Andrew popped the question to Amanda at a state park close to sunset in front of a waterfall. Spoiler alert … she said YES! The two are excited to begin this new chapter together and can’t wait to celebrate with you.
Our journey continues as we grow our family. Baby Merl arrived in May 2023!
